The Subaru Crosstrek and Impreza have gained new special editions in Australia, the Crosstrek Onyx Edition and Impreza S-Edition.
2025 Subaru Impreza S-Edition. The 2025 Subaru Crosstrek small SUV line-up has grown in Australia with the addition of a blacked-out Onyx special edition, based on the range-topping AWD 2.0S.
On sale now, the Subaru Crosstrek AWD 2.0S Onyx Edition adds black 18-inch alloy wheels, a black rear garnish and spoiler, black bonnet decals and side mirror caps, front mud flaps, a cargo mat, and a door under garnish usually available as a $632 dealer-fit accessory.
The Onyx Edition – sharing its name with, but unrelated to, a 2.5-litre Crosstrek variant sold in Canada – is priced from $43,890 before on-road costs, $1400 more than the 2.0-litre non-hybrid Crosstrek 2.0S it is based on.
2025 Subaru Crosstrek Onyx. It is available to order in Crystal White, Ice Silver, Magnetite Grey, Daybreak Blue, Oasis Blue and Offshore Blue, while the standard Crosstrek's Sun Blaze orange, Pure Red and Crystal Black finishes are not offered.
Meanwhile, a limited-run Subaru Impreza S-Edition hatchback has returned for the first time in new-generation guise, offering STI-branded accessories at a discounted price.
Limited to 100 units across Australia, the 2025 Subaru Impreza S-Edition is based on the AWD 2.0S variant, and adds STI-branded 18-inch black Enkei alloy wheels, STI roof spoiler, and front and rear under spoilers.
2025 Subaru Impreza S-Edition. Priced from $42,490 before on-road costs – $3500 more than the AWD 2.0S – the S-Edition also gains a red STI push-start button, STI leather gear shift knob, and a sports grille pattern.
Individually, the dealer-fit accessories – except the sports grille pattern – cost a total of $6484, including fitment, for a discount of $2984 for the S-Edition compared to adding them to an AWD 2.0S.
The S-Edition is limited to Pure Red, Crystal Black and Crystal White, while standard Impreza variants are also offered in Ice Silver, Magnetite Grey, Oasis Blue and Sapphire Blue.
There are no powertrain changes for the Crosstrek Onyx and Impreza S-Edition, with a 115kW/196Nm 2.0-litre non-turbo four-cylinder boxer engine matched to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) automatic and symmetrical all-wheel drive.
2025 Subaru Crosstrek Onyx. VFACTS new-car sales data shows 6762 examples of the Subaru Crosstrek have been reported as sold year-to-date – down 4 per cent – while 1031 Impreza hatches have been delivered, a 15 per cent decline from the same time in 2024.
