Ram has recalled 79 examples of its 2025 Ram 3500 and 2500 models, citing a potential fault with the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) module.

The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: "Due to a manufacturing defect, the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) module may disable the Electronic Stability Control (ESC).

"If this occurs, the ESC may fail without warning resulting in a loss of vehicle control. This may also result in the seatbelt pretensioners and airbags not performing as intended in the event of an accident."

"A loss of vehicle control and/or airbags and seatbelt pretensioners not deploying as intended in the event of an accident could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants."

A full list of vehicle identification numbers for the 79 vehicles involved in the recall can be found here.

Ram advises owners of affected vehicles to contact their nearest authorised Ram dealer to have the vehicle inspected and if necessary, update the ORC module, free of charge.

Owners can contact an authorised Ram Dealer by phone on 1300 681 655.
