Popular versions of the Ford Ranger and Everest will be offered with $4000 fuel cards, as part of a special offer softening the blow from diesel prices that have skyrocketed well above $3 per litre.

The offer coincides with drive-away deals on the Ranger plug-in hybrid (PHEV) – now branded by Ford as the Ranger Hybrid – slashing $17,000 off the price of the entry-level XLT, now $62,000.

The $4000 fuel card is available on runout Model Year 2026 (MY26) "and prior" Ranger XLT, Sport and Wildtrak variants, across all engines and body styles, plus the Everest Trend SUV.

It is offered in the form of a digital MasterCard gift card, which can only be used at service stations or merchants that sell fuel.

The $4000 card is equivalent to 1290 litres of diesel at the current national average of $3.10 per litre – about 16 full tanks of fuel in both models or, based on fuel consumption of 9.0L/100km, more than 14,000km of driving.

Should the price of diesel drop to $1.80/litre, the card can extend to 2220 litres of fuel – close to 28 full tanks, or 24,500km of driving.

Ford is also offering an additional $1000 off Ranger, Ranger Super Duty and Ranger PHEV models for farming businesses registered as primary producers.

More significant reductions are now available on the Ranger plug-in hybrid, dropping the entry-level XLT to $62,000 drive-away nationwide until 30 June – a saving of about $17,000 in NSW.

Exact discounts vary between states and territories; they are likely to be greater in states such as Victoria and Western Australia, where registration costs are higher, but smaller in regions such as the ACT.

The Ranger PHEV Sport is listed at $66,000 drive-away, and the PHEV Wildtrak at $70,000 – both about $17,000 off – while the Stormtrak is $73,000 drive-away, more than $20,000 off on average.

Customers looking to skip liquid fuel altogether can opt for the fully-electric E-Transit van, which is offered at $59,000 drive-away – a massive saving of about $40,000.

Runout Model Year 2023.75 stock of the Mustang Mach-E electric SUV is still offered with drive-away deals of $60,000 for the Select, $75,000 for the Premium, and $89,000 for the GT, until stock is exhausted – between about $8000 to $19,000 off.

The $4000 fuel card offer is valid until eligible Ranger and Everest variants are sold out, while the Ranger PHEV drive-away pricing and primary producers' savings are active until June 30.
