The price of the cheapest Skoda Kamiq city SUV has once again dropped below $30,000 drive-away, less than 12 months after it pushed over the threshold with the arrival of a more expensive, updated model.

Skoda Australia has confirmed white-painted examples of the Model Year 2024 (MY24) Kamiq 85TSI Select will be available for $29,990 drive-away until they are sold out or September 30, 2025, whichever occurs first.

The special offer makes it the most affordable European-built SUV on sale in Australia, when factoring in on-road costs.

While the $29,990 Fabia Select drive-away offer offers a broader range of colours – as the $500 Velvet Red Metallic finish is the only extra-cost paint option on the hatch – buyers must select a Kamiq in Candy White or Moon White to keep the sub-$30,000 deal.

The Skoda Kamiq was last available for $29,990 drive-away in mid-2024 in limited-edition, pre-facelift Run-Out form, to clear old stock after the arrival of the updated model, then priced from $33,990 for the Select.

When the Kamiq launched in Australia in late 2020, the 85TSI automatic was offered at $29,990.

However, COVID-19 pandemic-induced supply shortages saw it cut from the price list, before returning in 2022 for $37,990 drive-away with no additional features amid different economic conditions.

Standard equipment includes 17-inch alloy wheels, an 8.25-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB-C charge ports, an 8.0-inch instrument display, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and push-button start, and rain-sensing wipers.

The Select features an 85kW/250Nm 1.0-litre turbo three-cylinder petrol engine matched to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, with combined fuel consumption rated at 5.5L/100km.
