Four of BYD's popular plug-in hybrid models are available with a limited-time finance offer in the run-up to the end of the financial year.

BYD is offering a limited-time finance offer on a number of its models, including the Shark 6 Premium plug-in hybrid ute; the Sealion 5 in both essential and premium grades; all variants of the Sealion 6; and all grades of the Sealion 8.
Unless changed, the finance offer is due to run until 29 June 2026, and represents a 1.88 per cent per annum comparison rate over a three-year loan term, with no minimum deposit or balloon permitted. The offer excludes demonstrator models.
It is available to approved consumer and commercial applicants who apply by 29 June, settle, and take delivery by 30 June. BYD states that those who order within the campaign period but cannot take delivery by the required date may have their case individually reviewed and extended if required.
The BYD Shark 6 Premium is available for $57,990 before on-road costs. The plug-in hybrid ute is powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which, combined with the electric motors, produces a claimed 321kW and 650Nm and rated for a total range of 800km.
It runs on the brand's blade battery and accepts up to 55kW DC fast charging, and claims a 25-minute charge time from 25 to 100 per cent capacity. The model also offers vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability for charging accessories on the go.
The Chinese brand has also extended the finance offer to its Sealion 5 PHEV in both Essential and Premium grades, which are priced from $33,990 and $37,990 before on-road costs, respectively.
In Essential trim, it claims a combined output of 156kW from the 1.5-litre petrol engine and single electric motor, which is sent to the front wheels. The 12.9kWh battery assists it claim a combined fuel consumption figure of 4.5l per 100km, and rated for 71km of electric-only range.
In Premium guise, it uses a larger 18.3kWh battery for a slightly higher 100km all-electric driving range rating.
The popular Sealion 6 is also covered by the finance rate, which is available from $42,990 for the Essential grade, $46,990 for the Dynamic extended range, and $52,990 for the premium extended range model.
The front-wheel drive Sealions 6 Essential is rated with a combined range of over 1000km, from its 18.3kWh battery and 1.5-litre petrol engine. Both the battery and engine work together, claiming a combined output of 160kW/300Nm, and a 100km all-electric range rating.
The Sealion 6 Dynamic Extended steps that up to 140km of all-electric driving range, thanks to a much larger 26.6kWh lithium iron battery, paired to the same 1.5-litre petrol engine.
Stepping up to the premium Extended range version of the Sealion 6 bumps power from the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, and dual electric motors for a combined output of 253kW/550Nm, and is all wheel drive but is rated with a lower electric driving range of 128km.
The BYD Sealion 8 is the brand's plug-in hybrid 7-seat SUV, available from $56,990 for the Dynamic Front wheel drive, stepping up to dynamic AWD costs $63,990, while the top spec premium AWD is $70,990, all before on-road costs.
In Dynamic FWD trim, the Sealion 8 has a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine matched to an electric motor driving the front wheels, for a combined output of 205kW/315Nm, and is rated for 103km of all-electric driving range.
The AWD dynamic steps the power up to 359kW/675Nm, thanks to the added electric motor on the rear axle for all-wheel drive. It also features a much larger 35.6kWh BYD blade battery boosting electric driving range figure up to 152km, and is claimed to sprint from zero to 100km/h in 4.9-seconds.
The flagship Sealion 8 Premium all-wheel drive retains the same combined output, engine, and battery, but adds adaptive suspension, drilled brake rotors, mud and sand modes, and an inside is a 26-inch head-up display, leather upholstery, front and second row massage seats.
As well as a heated steering wheel, a 21-speaker sound system, ambient lighting, footwell lighting, and a mirror position memory.
